Looks like a lot of user's are having this problem with Vista computers and the problem is really the update agent. The way I see it is that since Microsoft is already at it's final stage with Vista. The software agent is shutting down so that user's are forced to buy a replacement system. There is really no end fix to this and most user's are just better off upgrading.
