Vulnerabilty Answers

Computers have vulnerability issues and there always is a question on what is it. We can write pages on vulnerabilities and the best answer to it is by saying that it's a software that wasn't finalized when it was produced. Because many software developers have a time frame in mind on getting their software out to the market. Developers don't sit down carefully and review their programming codes. This is why there software's have security flaws and vulnerability always exist in programming. The chances that you'll never find a flaw in a software is slim and for some companies it's just a matter of doing business. So make the best out of any software because there will always be vulnerabilities.

Fixing Network Connections

Windows 7 has it's good and it's bad and one thing that is fustrating is when you are already on a network and Window then refuses to recognize it. For those user's with this constant network connection problems were drivers are no longer accessible, try this.

Link

Fixed it. I fixed it by uninstalling the "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" on the network adaptor, reinstalling it and then restarting the computer. After the re-start things are now back to normal.
To uninstall the "File and Printer sharing for microsoft networks" in windows 7/Server 2008:
  1. Go to Network and Sharing Center from the control panel.
  2. Click change adaptor settings on the left hand side.
  3. Right click the network adaptor (if you have more than one you may need to do this on all of them).
  4. Select "Properties" from the list.
  5. In the "This connection uses the following items:" select "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks".
  6. Click the "Uninstall" button.
  7. Click "Yes" when the conformation box appears and wait for it to uninstall ("File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" will disappear from the "This connection uses the following items:" box once uninstalled).
  8. Click the "Install" button.
  9. Select "Service" from the "Click the type of network feature you want to install:" box.
  10. Select "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" from the "Network Service" box.
  11. Click "OK" and it should install in less than a few seconds ("File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" will reappear in the "This connection uses the following items:" box once installed).
  12. Restart the computer and the problem should be fixed.

Win 10 instead of 9

Why did Microsoft skip Windows 9 and went straight to Windows 10 is easily explained. Let's just say that Microsoft has to show user's that this was the end of the old Windows version and now it's creating a new Windows version from the ground up. That's where Windows 10 comes in.
Only time will tell if this new version of Windows will win the consumer market. Let's hope to see if they get this one right.

Fake Tech Support Scam

The Fake Tech Support Scan is on high alert lately. Not only are they conning the elderly but anyone who they can convince them to buy into their scam.
The scam starts pretty simple with someone calling you for support claiming to be Microsoft employees. In situations where things don't make sense your best option is to do nothing and get a return number or tell them to send you the information by mail. If they are a legit company they will be able to mail you something or you can easily reach them. Anything else would be questionable. But buyer beware because it's guys like these that are giving real computer technician's a bad name.
